I also take care of my 52 yr old mentally handicapped sister & my Fiancee who hit a tree in 2001 sufferring a suberachnoid brain injury. She will never be who she was before the accident & cannot work. I have been doing this for 6 yrs. SOO I coulnt work. I have lost my car, boat, motorcyle, guitars, cash, savings, checking , 401k and my house.EVERYTHING. I am $100,000 in credit card debt, my clothes are 15-20 yrs old, Im 47 going on 100. My father passed away on 9/11/07. My mother fell 2 nights ago and broke her hip. I went to the Dr for myself for the first time in 7 yrs 2 weeks ago for an Mri for back pain. I have a herniated disk L-2 L-3 with narrowing of canal and its sitting on a nerve.
I have a Dr’s appointment this Tuesday and I know the prescriptions i need are close to $1000.00 a month. Do you know where i can get financial medical assistance immedietly ? I am in pain.
Please do not tell me to go to a hospital..
thats where I will end up for temp. pain relief, but I need meds Tuesday. I will need meds till I can get dissability. That process of red tape could take up to a year. I never thought in my whole life these kind of words would come from MY MOUTH. I’m now old, tired, exhausted, afraid, and suffering. it’s the pain that’s getting to me more than anything else.
Does anyone have 3 nails and a cross?

My gosh you would have qualified for Medicaid LONG ago. I suggest you goto google.com and search for your state’s medicaid plan. I would have done this a long time ago and get your parents on it, your wife, your sister…all of them. This should be paid for by the state, not by you. It is not your fault. I would not have charged all this as you can apply for medicaid as well as disability if they qualify.

I suggest you find a lawyer that will make your debt go away, or at last resort file for bankrupcy. It pains me to see that you charged a lot of your expenses because Congress has been lobbied so as to pass laws that make it virtually impossible to discharge credit card debt. I wish you the best, I hope you get out of the hole you’re in.

Go to your department of community mental health – first off, you are suffering from a tremendous load….secondly, they should be able to get you some assistance in this matter.
Tell them you need a social worker – they help people get to the social programs that they need.

    My prayers are with you.

WOW you are taking a heavy load of life. You must have been put on earth to care for others. I am proud of you for all you are doing.

I think since you have people who depend on you, you can get financial aid. I would google up some stuff on financial assistance for disabled, etc. Man, I wish I could help.

But I wouldn’t waste my money on RX for the back pain… the best way to eliminate the pain is to remove the herniated portion of the disk that is pressing on the nerve root. I had the same herniation and I know the pain you are going thru. I got the surgery and am glad I did. That pain is unbearable. THERE IS HELP!!!

I am 100% pain free. No fusion, nothing. Just removed the bulging portion to relieve the pressure off the nerves.

Take care and God Bless. Hey, that’s another thing. Maybe you could reach out to local churches for help.
