Hey America, What should we do with all the laid offs whose Insurance have lapsed and have no Health Care?

I have a friend who was laid off from Microsoft 8 months ago…. He has tried everything to get another job and is using the family savings to survive….. Now is he deserving of a Public Option for him and his family. Or should we let his daughter die because he can’t afford to pay for her Asthma prescription?
